In recent times, the automotive industry has massively introduced interesting concepts related to the green philosophy of its production, from electric traction to recycled materials through environmentally friendly components but, as far as “disposable” plastic materials are concerned, the changes have been minimal.

A large part of the bodywork and some details of the interiors are still protected by plastic materials that involve expensive disposal costs, as well as the danger of the dispersion of microplastics in case the covers are unfortunately accidentally lost during handling.

The solution may be to use, in the production of these films, biodegradable materials with technical characteristics of equal value to those currently in use.

EVi offers a fully certified compostable material, which contains calcium carbonate. This solution does not create “polluting” plastic waste but contributes to the natural fertility of the earth when, by biodegrading, it dissolves in the soil.

For example, by making car covers with this compostable solution, in addition to protecting the product during transfers from atmospheric agents, dust and debris, both the costs of restoration for damage sustained during transport and the waste (and costs) for the disposal of protective materials are drastically reduced, not to mention a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
